Bringing home your puppy or kitten?

These are list of some of the things that you need to prepare before bringing them to their new home.

Purchase a few toys

Cats and Dogs enjoy playing with a variety of toys, you could purchase balls or chewable toys for a puppy, or a string toys and scratching post for a cat.

Create family ground rules

Before bringing them home, make sure that your family is on the same page. Create rules where the pets can go and can not go, and where the pets should be sleeping. It is also important to have a chore list of who will be responsible in take caring of them and cleaning after them.

Food and water bowl

Prepare a new set of food and water bowl before bringing them home to make them feel more comfortable and create a better transition experience

Create a safe space for them

Dogs and Cats love to play, it is important to create an area where they can run, climb, and play. This will also be their safe space to have their own time for themselves.

Grooming equipment

Dogs and Cats need the be bathed on a regular basis. Check the labels before purchasing one that is ideal for their skin. It is also to keep them healthy and clean.

Pet food supplies

Research on your pets nutritional need before purchasing a dog food or cat food. It will vary depending on their breeds and ages. Talk to your vet to see what they will recommend. Getting a stock of treat is also best for positive reinforcement and training them early.

Equip your home with special cleaning items

Consider investing in a potty pads and bags, and litter box for your Dogs or Cats and train them to use it as a proper waste cleaning tools for a more cleaner environment.

Pet proof your home

Pay attention to hazardous ornaments, unfriendly plants, poisonous food, and other unsafe substances, keep it out of reach to make them safe.
